You will enter the bar, which also acts as the reception for the bedrooms, and be greeted by a smiling member of staff (or else!!).

The bar is light, airy with large Georgian windows and operates as a calm, relaxing, friendly place to enjoy your own company or to interact with others – you will not be distracted by piped music or TV screens – the ability to converse would be an advantage!

There are of course, hopefully, occasions when the bar is busy. A range of twelve draught beers with a heavy accent of real ale, a global wine list of which ten wines are available by the glass, a large selection of malt whiskies together with a full range of spirits, soft drinks and coffee are available. We are not a cocktail bar.

Children and young people under 18 years

We, of course, want to welcome children and young people to share and enjoy the experience however this facility can only be offered when it is appropriate to do so. Eating is also a requirement. Sometimes it can get too busy so please check with management staff before installing yourself.

Dogs

Because of our food service we unfortunately cannot allow dogs inside, however well behaved and people friendly dogs are welcome on the patio.

Food in the bar is available every day from noon to 10pm and all food is prepared in house on a daily basis.

There is a strong emphasis on traditional Scottish dishes such as Cullen Skink (a fish chowder), haggis, beef collops which hopefully will tempt visitors to try. A wee splash of whisky on your haggis could add an interesting sauce.

A few sporting events can be viewed on the patio, weather permitting, and only if it is on ‘council tele’. These might include Six Nations, Champions League and Wimbledon. TV is not a big feature at the Babbity.

boules

The sun drenched patio with its annual award winning floral backdrop (looked after by Frank Kerr, a friend of the owner) also has a petanque court and boules are available from behind the bar. On occasions this is used by companies to host their own events of a boules tournament with an accompanying BBQ.
